TodoTicked provides conversations inside projects and comments inside tasks. It does not provide direct messages or general-purpose chat channels.
Project chat
Open a shared project and use its chat panel or chat dock to discuss work with project collaborators.
In project chat, you can:
- Send text messages to the project conversation
- Mention a collaborator
- React to a message with one of the available reactions
- Load earlier messages
- Delete a message you sent
Project chat keeps discussion with the project instead of creating a separate team-wide conversation.
Task comments
Use comments when a question, decision, or update belongs to one task.
- Open the task.
- Open its comments area.
- Write the comment and mention a collaborator when needed.
- Send the comment.
You can edit or delete comments you created. Keeping decisions in task comments makes the history easier for collaborators to find later.
Choose the right conversation
| Need | Use |
|---|---|
| A project-wide update | Project chat |
| A question about one task | Task comment |
| A durable task assignment | The task assignee field |
| A file or image that belongs to a task | The task's attachment controls |
Notifications
Project members can configure in-app and email notifications for task additions, edits, completions, deletions, and comments from the project's Notifications tab.
Use mentions when a specific collaborator needs to see a message. Avoid relying on project chat as an emergency or guaranteed-delivery channel.
Tip: Put decisions in the relevant task comment even if the discussion started in project chat. The task will retain the context where the work is tracked.
