Where TodoTicked comes from

TodoTicked reached 1.0 in August 2026, after twelve months of full-time development. It is not a twelve-month-old idea.

The platform is the product of thirteen years spent building and running another task manager in this same space — thirteen years of watching how people actually plan a day, where task managers quietly fail them, and which compromises are worth making. That chapter closed when the people behind it went their separate ways. TodoTicked is what came out of it: the same accumulated understanding, rebuilt from a blank page, with the decisions we had always wanted to make.

That history is why 1.0 did not arrive as a minimal to-do list. It shipped with end-to-end encryption, offline-first sync, recurring tasks, teams, and apps on five platforms — because we already knew those were the parts people come to depend on, and the parts that are painful to retrofit later.

Every public release is listed below, newest first. Version 1.0 was our first general release; the year of work before it was pre-release development and is not itemised here.

Desktop and mobile builds follow the web version, so an update may reach your platform a day or two after it appears here.

Tip: Not sure which version you are on? Open Settings → About in the app. The desktop app also has Check for Updates in the application menu, and checks on its own shortly after launch and periodically while running.
