Most scheduling on the calendar is done by dragging. Nothing needs to be typed.
Scheduling something for the first time
Tasks without a date sit in the Unscheduled tray beside the calendar.
- Pick one up from the tray.
- Drop it on the day and time you want.
It lands with a 30 minute duration, which you can then adjust by dragging its bottom edge.
Drop it on the All day row instead and it gets the date without a time.
Moving something already scheduled
Drag the block. It moves relative to where you grabbed it, so picking a block up by its middle will not snap its start to your cursor.
Everything snaps to 15 minute steps.
Between the all-day row and the timeline
- Timeline to all-day row clears the task's time and its duration. Any reminder set for that time is cleared too, since the task is no longer at a particular moment.
- All-day row to timeline gives the task a start time and a 30 minute duration, and leaves any existing reminder alone.
In Month view
Dragging a task to another day in Month view keeps its time. A task at 09:00 on Tuesday dragged to Thursday is still at 09:00.
Creating a task directly on the calendar
- Click an empty slot to create a task there, with a 30 minute duration.
- Click and drag across empty space to create one that fills exactly the stretch you dragged.
Both open a small box where you type the name. Natural language works here, so Draft the report for 1h30m sets the duration as you type.
Taking something off the calendar
Drag a block back into the Unscheduled tray to clear its date and time. It stays in your list, just without a schedule.
Keyboard
