Calendar Overlays

Show Google Calendar events, completed tasks and focus sessions alongside your plan.

Overlays add extra context to the calendar without changing what is on it. Turn them on and off under Show in the calendar toolbar.

All three are off by default, and each one is only loaded when you turn it on, so the calendar stays quick if you do not use them.

Google Calendar

Shows your Google Calendar events behind your tasks, so you can schedule around meetings you have already agreed to.

Connect Google Calendar in Settings, Integrations first, then choose which of your calendars appear.

Events are read only in TodoTicked. They appear on the grid but cannot be dragged, resized or completed here. Change them in Google Calendar and they update on the next sync.

Google Calendar sync is part of Pro and Team.

Completed tasks

Normally the calendar shows only what is still to do. Turn this on to see what you finished as well, which is useful for looking back over a week and seeing where the time actually went.

Completed tasks appear faded and cannot be dragged.

Focus sessions

Shows your finished Pomodoro sessions as slim markers down the right-hand edge of each day.

This lets you compare the plan against what happened: the blocks are what you intended to do, the markers are when you were genuinely focused.

Focus sessions are a record, so they cannot be moved or resized.

Where these settings are kept

Overlay choices are stored per device, along with your view and week start. Turning an overlay on at your desk will not turn it on your phone.
