The built-in gallery covers common cases. When you have a routine of your own that you rebuild by hand every time, save it as a template instead.
Saving a template
Your own templates start from work you have already done, so build the task once and get it right before you save it.
- Create a task with the steps you want, as subtasks underneath it.
- Open Settings, then Templates.
- Choose to save a new template and pick that task from the list.
- Give it a title and a short description, so it still makes sense to you in six months.
The task and its subtasks are copied into the template. The original task is untouched and stays where it is.
Your templates appear alongside the built-in ones in the gallery, and import exactly the same way.
Sharing a template
Any template you own can be shared with a link.
- Find your template in the gallery.
- Create a share link for it.
- Send the link to whoever needs it.
Anyone who opens the link can import a copy into their own account. They get their own tasks in their own account, so their changes never touch yours, and yours never change theirs.
What sharing does and does not do
- The link works for anyone who has it. There is no sign-in wall, so treat it as public and do not put anything private in a template you share.
- Sharing copies the template only. Nothing else in your account becomes visible.
- A shared template is a snapshot at import time. If you edit your template afterwards, people who already imported it keep what they imported.
Stopping sharing
You can turn sharing off from the same place you turned it on. The link stops working immediately, so nobody new can import from it. Copies that people already imported stay in their accounts, because those are their tasks now.
Deleting a template
Deleting a template removes it from your gallery and revokes its share link at the same time. Tasks you created from it are not affected.
