Notification Issues
Fix problems with reminders and notifications not appearing.
Quick Checklist
- ✅ Notifications enabled in TodoTicked settings
- ✅ Notifications allowed in device/browser settings
- ✅ Do Not Disturb is off
- ✅ App has background permissions
- ✅ You're signed in
Enable Notifications
In TodoTicked
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Enable Push notifications
- Enable specific notification types:
- Due date reminders
- Task assignments
- Comments
- Team updates
Browser Notifications
Chrome:
- Click lock icon in address bar
- Find Notifications
- Set to Allow
Firefox:
- Click lock icon
- Click Connection secure
- More information
- Permissions → Notifications → Allow
Safari:
- Safari → Preferences
- Websites → Notifications
- Allow for todoticked.com
Mobile Notifications
iOS
- Settings → Notifications → TodoTicked
- Enable Allow Notifications
- Enable:
- Lock Screen
- Notification Center
- Banners
- Set Alert style to Banners or Alerts
Android
- Settings → Apps → TodoTicked
- Tap Notifications
- Enable All notifications
- Check individual channels are enabled
Desktop App
macOS
- System Preferences → Notifications
- Find TodoTicked
- Enable Allow Notifications
- Set alert style
Windows
- Settings → System → Notifications
- Find TodoTicked
- Enable notifications
- Check priority settings
Do Not Disturb
Notifications won't appear if DND is on:
iOS: Check Control Center Android: Check Quick Settings Mac: Check menu bar Windows: Check action center
Background App Refresh
Apps need to run in background:
iOS:
- Settings → General → Background App Refresh
- Enable for TodoTicked
Android:
- Settings → Apps → TodoTicked
- Battery → Allow background activity
Specific Issues
No Sound
- Check device isn't on silent
- Check TodoTicked sound settings
- Check notification sound is set
Delayed Notifications
- Check battery optimization settings
- Ensure background refresh is enabled
- Keep app running (don't force quit)
Duplicate Notifications
- Check if signed in on multiple devices
- Review notification settings
- May need to sign out of extra sessions
Notifications Stopped Working
- Sign out and back in
- Toggle notifications off then on
- Reinstall the app
- Check for app updates
Testing Notifications
Verify notifications work:
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Click Send test notification
- You should receive a test notification
- If not, check device settings
Email Notifications
For email notification issues:
- Check spam/junk folder
- Add noreply@todoticked.com to contacts
- Check email notification settings
- Verify email address is correct
When to Contact Support
Contact us if:
- You've tried all troubleshooting steps
- Notifications work on some devices but not others
- You're missing important reminders
- Settings don't save
